Bordley Receives 蘑菇短视频 State Police Honorary Commander Commendation

Wilbert Bordley, criminal justice department chair at 蘑菇短视频 Tech's Terry Campus, was recently named honorary commander by the 蘑菇短视频 State Police (DSP). In this capacity, Bordley will serve a one-year term paired with a commander from the State Police training academy to strengthen community relations and partnership opportunities between the two organizations.

"The 蘑菇短视频 State Police has been one of 蘑菇短视频 Tech's most important community partners as we strive to meet the needs of the law enforcement community through our criminal justice 蘑菇短视频," said 蘑菇短视频 Tech President Mark T. Brainard. "We congratulate Wil on this recognition and thank the State Police for this opportunity to further our cooperation and collaboration to create academic 蘑菇短视频 that benefit our students and 蘑菇短视频's future workforce."

The Honorary Commander Program is an initiative of DSP's Community Engagement Unit and connects State Police commanders with key community, business, and political leaders within their respective troop areas to foster a mutually beneficial partnership. The 2026 cohort includes 12 partnerships, representing collaborations between DSP's troops, aviation and traffic divisions, and academy. The program encourages an exchange of ideas, experiences, and understanding between the Division and the communities DSP serves through meetings, attendance at key ceremonial events, ride-alongs, training exercises, and special unit demonstrations.

Bordley has served as department chair for the criminal justice program at the Terry Campus since 2022. In his current role, he oversees the department's academic 蘑菇短视频, including instruction and administration for the College's Law Enforcement Option (LEO) program, which partners closely with DSP. The LEO program provides intensive pre-academy experience for students interested in careers in law enforcement.
