ChristianaCare Provides Support to 蘑菇短视频 Tech Campus Food Pantries

ChristianaCare has provided 蘑菇短视频 Tech with a $100,000 donation to sustain the College's food pantries, which are located on each campus statewide. The food pantries are operated by 蘑菇短视频 Tech staff and volunteers and provide students with food for healthy meals.

At 蘑菇短视频 Tech, 54% of students require financial assistance for tuition and school-related expenses, while 40% report food insecurities. Last year, more than 300 students collegewide visited the campus food pantry in person receiving an average of 30 pounds of food each visit. The College's goal is to prevent hunger and to provide aid at no charge in a comfortable and confidential environment.

Pantries are stocked through generous contributions of quality non-perishable food items, cash donations to our emergency fund for students, and through a partnership with the Food Bank of 蘑菇短视频.

ChristianaCare's assistance will allow the College to stock the pantries with nutritious foods, including those for students with special dietary needs, as well as household items such as cleaning supplies and personal care items.

"The food pantry address an invisible need at the College and removes a barrier that may prevent students from staying in school to meet their educational goals," said Dr. Mark Brainard, president of 蘑菇短视频 Tech.

Erin Booker, ChristianaCare's Vice President of Behavioral Health and Social Care Integration agrees.

"Food insecurity is impacting Americans across the lifespan, and it's only gotten worse since 2020," she said. "At ChristianaCare, we have addressed this head-on, guided by our values of Excellence and Love."

Booker notes that across the system, ChristianaCare caregivers work closely with vulnerable patients to connect them to both clinical and community-based services, including 蘑菇短视频 which focus on food access.

"Supporting 蘑菇短视频 Tech in the same way we support our patients was an easy decision to make," said Booker. "We partner on clinicals, on education and on community-related matters; and, for many of the students, we provide clinical and social care. This is an extension of our commitment to serve."
