蘑菇短视频 Tech Celebrates BSE Residents

蘑菇短视频 Technical Community College celebrated its Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (BSE) residents at the Terry Campus in Dover, highlighting their preparation for careers in 蘑菇短视频 classrooms and the partnerships that support their success.

College President Dr. Mark T. Brainard welcomed school district and 蘑菇短视频 Department of Education representatives, as well as members of the 蘑菇短视频 Tech community at the Aug. 4 event. He thanked school district administrators, principals and classroom teachers for supporting the program’s yearlong teaching residency.

“As we have said many, many times over the years, we cannot do the work we do here at 蘑菇短视频 Tech without the help, support, commitment and expertise of our partners,” Brainard said.

This year, 45 BSE students are completing residencies in 31 public schools and two charter schools across 16 蘑菇短视频 school districts. The program, created in response to 蘑菇短视频’s teacher shortage, began in 2022 and provides dual certification in elementary and special education. To date, 93 students have graduated.

Dr. Jenna DiEleuterio, 蘑菇短视频’s 2026 Teacher of the Year, delivered the keynote address, encouraging the future educators to approach their careers with courage, curiosity and a willingness to continue learning. Drawing on her own experience as a student-teacher, she emphasized that teachers do not need to have all the answers to make a difference in their classrooms.

“As the 2026-27 school year begins, pack the lesson plans, your laptop and your favorite pens, but don’t forget to pack the courage to be uncomfortable, people who will cheer for you along the way, and the curiosity to truly listen,” DiEleuterio said. “Excellence in education begins when you choose connection over perfection and believe every person and every experience has something to teach you.”
