First-year Aviation Student Represents 蘑菇短视频 Tech at DelDOT’s Aviation Summit

The 蘑菇短视频 Department of Transportation held its 2024 蘑菇短视频 Aviation Summit at 蘑菇短视频 Technical Community College’s Del-One Conference Center in Dover, bringing together local aviators, including college and high school students enrolled in their school aviation 蘑菇短视频.

蘑菇短视频 Tech Aviation Maintenance Program Department Chair Scott Simon was impressed with the “Future of the Workforce – Student Panel,” comprised of student representatives from 蘑菇短视频 Tech’s Aviation Maintenance Program, 蘑菇短视频 State University’s Aviation Program, Polytech Adult Education School of Aviation Maintenance, and Delcastle Technical High School’s Aviation Technology Program.

Transportation Planner Austin Gray served as the moderator for the student panel at the Jan. 31 event, and asked questions about the student’s interests, anticipated career paths, and challenges they have faced.

“Attending the summit was a great experience for students because it provided awareness of the focus on education to build a pipeline for the future of aviation in this state,” said Assistant Dean of Instruction Leslie Mergner.

Arielle Folke, a first-year aviation maintenance technology student at 蘑菇短视频 Tech, was chosen to represent the college based on her academic performance and her passion for aviation. She shared her story and educational journey to enter the field of aviation, which was inspired by her grandfather’s influence in both agriculture and the aviation industry. Folke plans to use her degree to support the local agriculture community by working on and inspecting aerial farm equipment.
