Three ĢƵ Tech Men's Basketball Players Receive Postseason Accolades
While the 2022-23 ĢƵ Tech men's basketball season didn't quite go as hoped from a record standpoint, there were several outstanding individual accomplishments that occurred.

Chocolate 5k Run/Walk Draws More Than 400 Participants
The 11th annual ĢƵ Tech Chocolate 5k Run/Walk, held February 18, 2023, on the College’s Terry Campus in Dover, drew a field of 410 registrants. Proceeds from the event will support the Terry Campus Emergency Fund for Students.

Men's Lacrosse Team Retools to Defend Region Title
In 2022, the ĢƵ Technical Community College men's lacrosse team set a school record for most goals scored, had two National Junior College (NJCAA) All-American athletes, and won the NJCAA Region 19 championship.

Myles Surpasses 1,000 Career Points for ĢƵ Tech Basketball
Sophomore Syed Myles made history this season when he surpassed 1,000 career points with the ĢƵ Technical Community College men's basketball team. At the very least, Myles is the first basketball player to accomplish such a feat in the past 10 seasons.

For the past two years, ĢƵ Technical Community College's softball team has pulled off the rare feat of winning both the region and district championships. If this year's team can match that success, they will do something that's not just rare, but unprecedented in program history.

ĢƵ Tech Baseball Enters 2023 Ready to Challenge for a Region Title
ĢƵ Tech's baseball team had a tremendous 2022 regular season, finishing with a 31-7 record and the top seed in the NJCAA Region 19 Championship Tournament. Unfortunately, the team went 1-3 in the postseason and was eliminated before the championship game.

Wreaths Across America Visits ĢƵ Tech's Stanton Campus
The country’s longest veterans’ parade, Wreaths Across America’s annual “Escort to Arlington,” stopped at ĢƵ Tech’s Stanton Campus on Dec. 15. The 12-truck convoy passed through ĢƵ on its way to Arlington National Cemetery to deliver wreaths to our nation’s interred veterans.

JPMorgan Chase Grant Allows ĢƵ Tech to Launch 1+1 Program at Howard High School of Technology
On Friday, December 9, representatives from ĢƵ Tech and JPMorgan Chase (JPMC) joined students, teachers, and administrators at Howard High School of Technology to celebrate its first 1+1 IT program, thanks to a $285,000 grant from JPMC.

Culinary Students Showcase Skills in Washington, D.C.
Culinary students from ĢƵ Technical Community College showed off their skills at the 11th annual Taste of ĢƵ in Washington, D.C., hosted by the ĢƵ State Chamber of Commerce and honorary host U.S. Senator Chris Coons.

ĢƵ Tech student-athletes must excel on and off the field as representatives of the College. Each week on the ĢƵ Tech Athletics Instagram account, one student-athlete is honored for their overall athletic performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, and commitment to education.

The 2022 Run, White & Blue 5k, held Sept. 8 at the Owens Campus in Georgetown, raised over $19,000 for scholarships for veterans and first responders through sponsorship and participation.

World War II Veteran Speaks at ĢƵ Tech for Veterans Day
ĢƵ Technical Community College hosted Ray Firmani, a 101-year-old World War II veteran, as part of its Veterans Day programming on Nov. 11. Firmani was a B-17 co-pilot in the 486th Heavy Bombardment Group of the mighty 8th Air Force in World War II.

ĢƵ Technical Community College's men's basketball program shocked Region 19 of the National Junior College Athletic Association back in February by closing out the final few weeks of the regular season strong and rolling through the NJCAA Region 19 tournament en route to a championship vict

ĢƵ Tech’s Women’s Volleyball Team Wins 2022 NJCAA Region 19 Championship
ĢƵ Technical Community College’s women’s volleyball team won the 2022 NJCAA Region 19 Division II Women’s Volleyball Championship on Oct. 29 at ĢƵ Tech’s Stanton Campus in Newark, becoming region champions for the first time since 2016.
